Rio Tinto Access Road

Rio Tinto’s rail access roads are privately-owned and run parallel to the train network throughout the Pilbara, providing maintenance access to the railway. Rio Tinto allow the public to drive on the rail access roads as long as you hold a valid permit.

The rail access road from Tom Price to Millstream Chichester turnoff is unsealed and can be rough at various times of the year. For current road conditions contact Rio’s recorded information service on 1800 992 777 - option 7.

Road Reports can also be found on the noticeboard outside the Tom Price Visitor Centre and on the Shire of Ashburton website.
