Shire of Ashburton supports the 2024 Karijini Experience as a platinum sponsor
The Shire of Ashburton has committed its support to The Karijini Experience, confirming its position as one of the platinum sponsors for the 2024 event.
Endorsed by Council in December, President Smith expressed her support of this popular event, recognising the positive impacts it brings to Ashburton and the wider Pilbara community.
“I am thrilled to endorse and support this one-of-a-kind event in 2024. It is not merely an event; The Karijini Experience is a celebration that pays homage to the breathtaking beauty of our region, which we are fortunate to call home. It is a testament to our commitment to acknowledging and supporting the Banjima People and their invaluable connection to this land,” she said.
“Over five days in April, the event will showcase a program that seamlessly weaves together arts, culture, and meaningful connections. Through this, The Karijini Experience becomes a vivid showcase of the uniqueness of our environment and the vibrant spirit of our community.
“Council is proud to extend its support to this event for a consecutive year as part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our tourism offerings and boost the visitor economy.
“Recognising tourism as a vital secondary industry within the Shire of Ashburton, this support aligns seamlessly with our overarching strategies for sustainable growth and supports the Shire’s Economic and Tourism Development Strategy,” said President Smith.
The Shire look forward to collaborating with the Banjima Native Title Aboriginal Corporation and building on the incredible success and lasting legacy of The Karijini Experience.
