The Shire of Ashburton is home to many great bush walking trails of varying lengths and degrees of difficulty.

Millstream Chichester National Park

Millstream-Chichester National Park features a range of walking and bike trails. Some of the most popular walking trails include:

  • Chichester Range Camel Trail. This 8km bush walk (or 16km return) will take you all day to complete, and is best suited for advanced bushwalkers. The trail follows part of the old camel trail and features steep slops, natural obstacles and loose rocks.
  • Homestead Walk. This family friendly busk walk takes less than an hour to complete at just 750m in length. The walk trail begins at the historic Millstream Station homestead and meanders through towering paperbark trees, introduced date palms and pools of freshwater.

Karijini National Park

The best walking trails in Karijini are:

  1. Dales Gorge Loop (Moderate, 4.3km)
  2. Mount Bruce Trail (Advanced, 10.1km)
  3. Weano and Hancock Gorges (Easy, 4.7km)
  4. Kalamina Gorge Walk (Easy, 3.2km)
  5. Circular Pool Track (Easy, 0.3km)
  6. Joffre Falls Lookout Walk (Easy, 1.1km)
  7. Knox Gorge Walk (Easy, 2.4km)
  8. Fortescue Falls Track (Moderate, 1.3km)

Tom Price

The must-do walking trail in Tom Price is the Mt Nameless Walk Trail. This bush walk is 4.5km long with ‘Advanced’ difficulty (Class 4), taking 1-3 hours to complete. The summit is 1128 metres above sea level and provides spectacular views of Tom Price. The walk trail follows the ridge of the hill and from the summit you can see out over the town and down into the Rio Tinto iron ore mine and train loading area.
